If you want to change your own engine oil you have two choices. You can either follow the traditional path and raise the car on a set of ramps to drain the oil out of the oil sump or you can do it the new way and use an oil extractor to suck the oil out of the sump. There are pros and cons to both as will discuss.
If you have a set of ramps and are not worried about working under your car then there is no doubt that the best way to change your engine oil is to drain it out of the oil sump and into an engine oil drain pan. This method is quicker and makes sure that all of the engine oil is drained. It is a good idea to run the engine for a few minutes before doing this task to heat up the oil and make it more runny, therefore making it easy to drain, but not for too long or the oil get’s hot. If you do not have a set of ramps or are not comfortable working under a car then this method is not for you. You should never work on a car which is only supported by tyre jacks.
An oil extractor is a device that can be used to suck engine oil out and up via the dipstick tube. Unquestionably these units are more time-consuming to use and it can require several goes to get the oil out but that they have the considerable advantage that you do not need to do any work under the car. Oil is sucked up through a tube and into a container ready for disposal.
Whichever method you choose you will also need to change the oil filter, this requires a car oil filter wrench to remove it. Some filters are disposable others can be cleaned, although not as environmentally friendly to disposable types are much easier to deal with energy can have to worry about cleaning the filter. Not everyone who is listing an RV for sale really wants to sell it. You have probably experienced this when you have gone to look at RVs for sale by owner that has been listed in the newspaper. You are probably surprised to see that more than half of these RVs were overpriced. It seems like people are not sure what their RV is worth, but they want to be able to get the most for it when it sells. A lot of people figured that their RV is worth at least what they owe for it. However, in a lot of instances, the RV is still worth less than what they owe even if the owner has been making payments for the first two or three years.
If you want to find someone who is desperate to sell, you need to talk to a lot of sellers and find out why they are selling. Find out as much as you can about the seller. When you are trying to get a good deal, it is just as important to find out as much as you can about the seller as it is to find out about the condition of the RV. Ideally, you do not want to buy RVs that are in poor condition. You want to focus on owners that are having difficulties that could be solved by selling their RV. Some of the difficulties include bankruptcy, foreclosure, divorce, inheritance, and even death. Probably the most common people who are desperate enough to sell their RVs are those who are avoiding foreclosure or bankruptcy. These are actually a little bit more complicated because often, the seller does not have any equity to give you or any money to pay you to buy their RV. So in order to get a good deal on these you’re going to have to work with the bank and get them to accept a short sale offer. The three other conditions are slightly less common but they are a great way to be able to buy from someone who really wants to sell their used RVs for sale by owner quickly.
