Superhero VW Campervans!

English tattoo artist Andrew Mark Hunter has created a series of comic book characters based on VW campervans with names like Batvan, The Amazing Spider-Van, Dub-Mariner, The Silver Surfbus and Camper America.

The images are all based on the Volkswagen Type 2 van, which was introduced in 1950 between Superman and the Fantastic Four. The VW campervan was a favourite with 1960s hippies, who also often gave them interesting paint jobs.
